  • Yes, we prepare all USB thumb drives with the exFAT format so they work on Mac and Windows computers.

    For USB external hard drives we will format the drive to Apple/APFS or Windows/NTFS format for maximum compatibility and reliability for your computer.

  • For maximum compatibility, we offer USB devices with the traditional rectangular connector. If your computer only has the smaller USB-C port we recommend this inexpensive USB-C adapter.

  • We recommend the 3-2-1 backup strategy, which is 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media, and 1 copy off site. At the end of your project, we can help you get set up for safe and reliable backups.

  • USB thumb drives and external hard drives are great for storage and backups, but they’re not always convenient for on-the-go access. We can create a personal website for your photos, set you up on Projector App, or a personal YouTube playlist for your home movies so you can access your memories from anywhere. You can access these cloud services from smart phones, tablets, web browsers, and most smart TVs.

  • While DVDs were once a popular way to store and share memories, they’ve become an unreliable and outdated option. Here’s why we don’t use DVDs to deliver our projects:

    1. Limited Compatibility: Most modern computers and laptops no longer come with DVD drives, making it difficult — if not impossible — to access your memories.

    2. Lack of Reliability: DVDs are prone to scratches, degradation, and disc rot, which can render your memories unreadable over time.

    3. Storage Limitations: DVDs have a small storage capacity (4.7GB for a standard disc), meaning your files often need to be heavily compressed, resulting in lower quality.

    4. Outdated Technology: As digital storage and cloud solutions have advanced, DVDs have fallen behind in terms of usability and longevity.

    Instead, we deliver your memories on USB drives, external hard drives, or through trusted cloud storage solutions like Mylio, Forever, or SmugMug. These methods provide:

    • Maximum compatibility with modern devices.

    • Higher storage capacity for uncompressed, high-quality files.

    • Reliability and longevity to keep your memories safe.
